My love for the moving image probably came genetically from my cinephile father. For 22 years I’ve been able to develop extensive technical knowledge working in a wide range of aesthetic disciplines including automotive, commercial, documentary, branded, narrative and music video, and I take pride in being a true collaborator, crafting a specific and individual look for each project. For me, filmmaking is an expression of curiosity, empathy, wonder, compromise and aspiration.
As DP, I’ve had the privilege to lens the camera for some of the most notable personalities, brands, companies and organizations including Laurence Fishburn, Yo-Yo-Ma, SZA, Mick Jagger, Gigi Hadid, Michael Kors, IBM, Toyota, Vogue, Rivian, Chevy, Kate Spade, Budweiser, Lexus, Nike, 7up, Spotify, Lincoln, Gap, Cole Haan, NASA and more. This work has taken me to 6 continents on projects big and small, and I’ve filmed more commercials than I can count.
Recently I lensed a campaign for Google on 35mm and helped unveil Zenvo’s new hyper-car in Copenhagen on one of the only 360 degree LED volumes in the world. In 2021 I shot and produced the documentary western “My Heroes Were Cowboys” for Netflix. Other projects I’ve DP’d have won a 2018 Webby, been shortlisted for a 2018 CLIO in cinematography, and won a Bronze CLIO in 2017, and also been featured as Ad of the Week on AdWeek. In 2018 I was the cinematographer for Budweiser’s Super Bowl web campaign with the legendary Clydesdales.
I’ve had the honor of working on notable documentaries including camera operating on the hit documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor”, and the 2014 Oscar winning “20 Feet from Stardom”, as well DPing the feature length film “Bookers Place: a Mississippi Story” which screened at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival and received rave reviews from the New York Times and Variety.
I was raised in NYC and now live just outside the city near an abundance of trees with my lovely wife and two daughters. When I’m not on a shoot, I can be found tinkering with my cameras and bicycles, running, kayaking and developing custom color pipelines with a small group of trusted and talented colleagues.
